Our Family History
Steet Ponte Lincoln is part of a family-owned automotive group with roots in the Mohawk Valley dating back to 1945.
The story began with brothers Joseph G. Steet and Thomas Steet, who founded United Auto Sales in Utica. What started as one local dealership has grown into the Steet Ponte Auto Group, now representing multiple automotive brands and serving communities throughout Central New York.
In 1997, Joseph A. Steet joined Steven M. Ponte to purchase what is now Steet Toyota of Yorkville, establishing the partnership that became the Steet Ponte Auto Group. Over the years, the family continued to grow the business, adding dealerships and expanding throughout the Mohawk Valley.
Steet-Ponte Ford Lincoln became part of the group in 2003, with the dealership located here at 5074 Commercial Drive in Yorkville. Today, the Steet Ponte family continues to be actively involved in the business, with multiple generations working together across the group.
More than 80 years after the family's automotive journey began, our commitment remains the same: take care of our customers, support the communities that have supported us and make every experience as easy as possible.
